Really helpful staff. I had accidentally opened up a new second current account instead of downgrading my existing account. The lady who served me gave me a number to ring up but the person on the phone was not helpful so the lady resolved the issue there and then. Thank you very much indeed!

All of the negative reviews are just from old people who refuse to adapt and pay bills online or on the phone. The store looks great, the cash drop machines are great! The staff are lovely. If anything I?d say the new layout negatively affects the staff more as they have to sit at a bench with no back support on the chair!

You?re a member when you have a current account, mortgage or savings account with us." "As a mutual, we?re owned by, and run for, the benefit of our members" Ok, I am a member with an account . Then perhaps someone from Nationwide can explain how adapting the branch on Old Oxford Street, London, and removing the cashiers positions is to the members benefit? And also, why I am no longer able to pay a cheque into my Nationwide savings account at this branch.

After a bad experience with the customer services on the phone, i went into branch where there was no queue and the chap behind the counter was very friendly and helpful so despite the other reviews, the staff aren't all bad!

Rude person behind the counter. Stock answer was " it's on line". No point him being there.

Appalling service. I've been a loyal Nationwide customer for many years and this branch really just brought down the bank's standard. I simply went to the counter to request a transfer from my passbook acc to my ISA acc and the man gave me an impatient look. He asked me how much to transfer, it was ££k and he said he'll need to charge £20 for it which I've never heard of these charges except for international transfers, and I questioned him and he said the charges apply for local accounts as well.

Appalling service. I've been a loyal Nationwide customer for many years and this branch really just brought down the bank's standard. I simply went to the counter to request a transfer from my passbook acc to my ISA acc and the man gave me an impatient look. He asked me how much to transfer, it was ££k and he said he'll need to charge £20 for it which I've never heard of these charges except for international transfers, and I questioned him and he said the charges apply for local accounts as well.He then rudely direct me to use the computer/machine saying he can show me how to do it and made me waited for 5 minutes, bear in mind that there was no customer at all during that time. It needed my customer number which I didn't have it on me. Then he asked if I had the banking app with me, and he proceeds to direct me on how to transfer my money by myself with that annoying slang of 'YEA? YEA? YEA? Continue. Continue' as if I didn't know how to use the app and what was the whole point of me visiting this branch if I was going to do the transfer by myself?? Once the transfer was done by MYSELF, again with the 'YEA? YEA?' and then went off without saying anything.I'd understand if there were a big line behind me and he'd like to move things quickly but I was the only person during that time. The whole experience was really mortifying for me and it really affected my day as I don't know what I've done to deserve such treatment. Was it because I was an Asian? Or the way I was dressed? Yes I was in my lazy outfit and ugly slippers which probably shows I'm someone who shouldn't be treated with at least a bit of politeness is it?Honestly felt humiliate and even hesitated to take his name when I wanted to leave the bank, but I still went on and asked one of his colleague. His name is Bendi (If its not mistaken), she wasn't too keen to share his name to me either. I'll be filing a complaints form to Nationwide as well because they really need to train their staff to treat people like human beings!
