“This is a diverse church. The people are from different backgrounds, the pastor is multicultural, and the music is varied. I appreciated the richness and variety of this church.”

“We'd been on a walking tour of blitz sights, the walk finished beside St Paul's and the guide recommended various places for lunch, including here, the Salvation Army café. Several of us went there and it was excellent - clean, lots of space, tables available, a good choice of food and very reasonable prices. My wife drinks decaf coffee and said that it was excellent here, far better than Prêt. Highly recommended.”

“???????I have passed by it hundred of times and recently I visited a section of it with my lovely cousin a few days ago. ??????? St. Martin-in-the-Fields church dates back to 1222 (Norman times) , but the current building was actually completed in 1726.??????? A cool “hidden” (not really hidden lol) crypt cafe where we felt like transporting back in time. A little creepy feeling but once I entered it quickly disappeared.??????? Interesting place to sit down, chat and relax while enjoying a nice and expensive cup of coffee under a unique crypt setting.??????? The church is named after St. Martin of Tours, a 4th-century bishop known for his charity work. Hence the rich association of the church with charitable work.??????? If you wonder why “in-the-Fields” part of the name. Well it is all because during its medieval all this was a countryside area just outside the city of London. The name “in-the-Fields” remains as a historical reference.BEAUTIFUL CHILLY DAY TO ENJOY LONDONEMBRACE THE WEATHER ????????♥️”

“VERY high church, (clergy sing the mass liturgies!) which is exactly what we wanted, modern building, soup kitchen, a little chilly with all the doors open for Covid and I would have much preferred we didn’t all share one cup for communion. (Think it gave me a cold) but otherwise very nice people and staff.”

“This is one of the most welcoming churches I know of. Totally non-judgmental about who or what you are. My reasons for going are maybe not the most usual that people have for going into a church, but always a warm welcome here.”

“Lovely welcome to be shown the building but a bit of a shock to find the Chancel (former holy of holies) a cafeteria! I liked the polished floor in the main church/nave & the lack of pews & chairs around the outer walls looked good ..”

“Abouna Afraid and Sayedna graced us with the wedding we have been dreaming of. We are outpouring gratitude for being blessed with this Church in London where Syriac hymns take you back to wherever you were when you first heard anything from the celestial like notes and lines of Mar Afram El NsibeeniAcoustics were amazing, and the lightning and chandelier are exactl5what you wish for.”

“The previous building was destroyed in the fire of 1666, rebuilt and completed between 1680 and 1703, designed by Sir Christopher Wren.Other renovation and reconstruction works followed, starting from 1950 as a 1st degree building of historical and cultural interest. Interior in the shape of a Greek cross, with four columns and perimeter pilasters equipped with gold-colored capitals, distribution of the flat ceiling with beams. There are various objects, period furnishings, sculptures, paintings and the organ. Outside, the dome stands out, surmounted by a lantern and a pointed obelisk at the top.”
