somebody needs to pay attention and update the hsbc gloucester website . It is saying the branch is open as normal. I have spent an hour and 8 pounds getting here by bus only to find a flimsy notice on the door to say that the brach is shut due to developments for the next few weeks . I am extremely annoyed to have paid the money and wasted my time when google opening times and the website should have been changed

Not very friendly staff. As an 18 year old, I'm just starting to try figure things out. I can't believe the branch doesn't have some way to automatically count how much money is being handed to them e.g. a machine. I'd separated the money into bags based on what value the coins were and wrote how much of each I had on the slip. Staff member told me that's not how to was supposed to be done (the bags and the slip) but failed to tell me how I'm actually supposed to do it for next time. I'm very confident he also miscounted by £20 - I'd added it all up the previous night and a friend had double checked it. He took a long time counting and I was too embarrassed and nervous to ask him to count it again. These things can be stressful when you've never done them before, it isn't hard to just be a bit nicer.

Absolutely abysmal "service". No organisation. First visit after 40min wait they said they would phone with an appt. Fair enough they rang, but told me I didn't need an appt. So I took half a day from work to go in again before they close at 430. Waited again to be told I DO need an appt. Absolutely ridiculous. And I am fuming.

Like to thank all the staff at HSBC Gloucester, upfront and on the cashier till very helpful today. Shame they are shutting Cirencester, Stroud, Chepstow and Ross on wye.

Terrible Saturday service! I?m counting over 20 customers in the Gloucester branch. And only 1 person on the floor to help them. Where are all the rest of the staff! It?s a banking group?it?s not like there?s a shortage of money to hire more w/end staff. Abysmal & unprofessional.

Miss the old times of cash banking at a desk with an actual person. Cash deposit machines are quite useless, don't take all the notes and when checking with staff, they are just referring you to go to post office. Thankfully post office was great and efficient!

Had a bad experience using the Hsbc live chat and telephone service. As a result we had to go to our local branch to try and resolve the issue. Have to say the member of staff in the Gloucester branch was amazing sorting out the issue promptly and efficiently. Why can?t we have more real people to sort out our financial issues as they can resolve them so much better that a telephone line.

Never in my life have I had such bad service from a bank. My wife and I have been trying to open a joint account for 3 weeks now, it's supposed to take a maximum of 5 days!! I am never going to refer HSBC on and am seriously considering aborting the process and going to another bank

My partner attended this branch as he had a letter to go. We sat in an office and I went to close the door and was told I couldn?t due to ventilation. So what about confidentiality and privacy? Everyone could hear all our private conversation and was distracted by those talking outside. We were wearing face masks so not sure what the issue was; never heard anything so ridiculous.The bank was zero help, and didn?t know anything about this issue on the account. There was nothing they could help with really. Asking about a transaction 5 months ago that we couldn?t remember about. Why ask my partner to talk through a transaction he cannot remember so long down the line? Think you need to sort out your internal affairs and learn how to bank.

Awful customer service ! I've been HSBC/Midland customer for over 20yrs. They dont care only interested in selling new products & getting money out of you. You ask staff member about my investments its 'dont deal with that - go use the phone' ! I spent hour on phone half the time on hold ! I wanted to simply close an account? I was shifted around to 2/3 different staff! Two-faced, incompetent, lazy, no knowledge or interest..
