Great friendly staff and excellent service. Food is outstandingly delicious. Atmosphere was lacking but it was only a Tuesday evening and very quiet going back in a few weeks on a Friday night should be better then.

Beautiful pub that I've driven past many times but my first visit didn't disappoint. You can feel the history with the lovely oak beams. The staff were really friendly and welcoming and large portions of perfectly cooked food.

Went for Sunday lunch today. My chicken was rubbish I took one bight couldn't chew it so tough. I asked for more roast potatoes as I had only one and a half was told we charge for more . I said no problem.I had the pate as a starter I got one piece of a bread with it so asked for more. If you get pate you want at least some bread with it. When we paid the bill which was £120 we said about how rubbish the chicken was the response was ill make a note of that. We won't be going back that's for sure. Do no recommend going here

This was our first visit to The Highwayman for Sunday lunch. The welcome was lovely and warm and we're made to feel welcome straight away. There was a good choice of meats for our roasts as well as a selection of other foodsWe both chose the lamb and it was delicious, with a good selection of veg that really did have that 'home cooked' taste and to see Syrup Sponge and custard on the menu was a hark back to comfort food of my childhood. And it was delicious. We'll be back ?

Been here a few times now as it's a lovely place, but the last visit wasn't as good with the food which was a shame.

A disappointing lunch to say the least. The reviews all seemed in order and gave the Highwayman a 4/5 star review but this couldn?t have been further from the truth. It?s as if the food offering is a throw back to 30 years ago, just like the decor. The meat was difficult to determine what meat you were eating, the roast potatoes cold or at best lukewarm. The gravy tasteless and the veg soggy from spending too long in boiling water. The service was also poor with little warmth and empathy for the clientele. It was a big disappointment and I couldn?t recommend it to any one and will not be going back. It?s not cheap and there are better options all around the county that offer better service, better food at a similar price points.Vegetarian options: Only one option available on the menu that I saw.

Visited for a meal highlights were: good beer, family run who specially adapted menu choice to meet allergens and we were advised that all their food is homemade. The service was efficient and the staff were friendly and took the time to talk to us. We would definitely visit again when in the area.Parking: Next to the pub

Menu wasn't great and chips came out undercooked, but the owner was happy to take them back and bring another plate. We did turn up late too, so happy with the service here. It's a lovely warm, old English pub with a basic menu and reasonably priced ?
