Very unprofessional. Took my car for a wheel health check as I thought I can hear a sound from one of the wheels. They were laughing when they told me that I need to invest £1000 on it as everything needed changing, everything was rusty and leeking... and a lot of exageration. My car worth less than a thousand.Took it to F1 autocenter and staff are decent and gave me an honest advice : change brake pads and discs £250, nothing else urgent to do on the car, and there were no leaks. So yes, Halfods service on Brooks street Colchester is after your money and they are having fun on your trouble and expense

Booked my car in for brake check as I knew I needed brakes replaced front and rear. On getting an email as I'm a Halfords motoring club member offering 10% of parts,so parts price £219 asked how much to fit told you cant do it this way we can't guarantee the parts even though they will supply them urrgh .it can't be a broken down price so charged £558 in total after much haggling fron £800. Still think it would have been fair to be told how much they charge to fit discs and pads with my discount motoring club. One reason was given that Halfords are 2 separate companies so parts come under retail stores and brake repair is under depots but Motoring club app does'nt differentiate as it offers discount across both as one company. It just stops you getting the full discount unfair.

Very poor service by halfords today.I had my car booked in at 10am to get 2 new tyres put on my car, only to be told my tyres hadn't arrived yet and they'd be there by 11.30.I eventually get a call at 2pm saying they're arrived, so I take the car up there and they replace the 2 tyres which are on the back.Anyway I ask them if they can swap the front and rear wheels over so I have the new ones on the front and they didn't bother.

Needed a new car battery installed asap so Googled and Halfords came up. I've always been a bit dubious of the brand but thought, well it's only a car battery.Booked it on their app for "next day" fitting at this Auto Centre and received almost £20 off in discounts ?On arrival I had a polite welcome and within 2 minutes a lad was out to fit the battery. Took him barely 10 minutes start to finish and I was off ??

Stay away from this centre, awful customer service, and the worst part is i have a premium membership with this incompetent garage. I booked a repair directly from them after my car failed the MOT with them in the same centre but when I dropped the car a week later for the repair , after leaving the key at the customer service desk, the staff completely forgot to fix it . My car was still parked in the same place and in the same position from 0800am until around 1740pm when I came to collect it because they didn't call me to update me about anything and they were about to close .Another staff member apologised to me about what happened and booked me in again for the same repair. Again, I dropped my car a few days later for the booked repair at the first hour of opening only to receive a phone call after a few hours that they were done. I came to collect my car and found out again that no repair was done they just tested the brakes again, and as for the repair, I will need to book it, but I will need to wait another week because they haven't got the parts, they will need to order it. All this point I haven't been able to go to work and my MOT was about to run out I wasted a week with this incompetent staffs but I wasn't going to keep on booking and hoping that they would repair my car . I declined the offer of booking again for the very same repair that the car failed the MOT with them and drove to another garage, who was able to tell me exactly what was wrong and how long they would need to fix it . The other garage repaired my car quickly and in less time than what Halfords was planning, and that garage kept me informed all along during the repair process and the cost. I was able to collect my car quickly, I wasn't too happy to return to the Halfords to get it tested for the MOT again, but I have to because I have a premium membership. I will not renew my premium when the time comes.

You guys had a good rating but ruined it. Yet had to take my car to another garage, where there coolant residue and potentially a leak in the car still. Yet I was charged still for that, let alone the worse charges for the servicing since I been a driver. These guys are never coming anywhere near my car, not even HiQ and Formula One Autocentre either.

Our experience at Brook Street has been poor and we would not use them again.

I had my car booked in when I got there I was told a member of staff was off sick, and they couldn't do it till Sunday. People can't help going sick but to wait till Sunday isn't really good enough.

Car went in for a diagnostic, they said everything was fine. Took it to another garage and they instantly recognised wheel bearings. Really annoying, especially when no compensation or apology offered. However, they were useful and polite prior to this - wouldn?t want to say they were terrible.

Absolutely dire service, went in for two replacement front tyres. Both needed to be Run Flats. They replaced them but put completely the wrong tyre on one of the front wheels. When I tried to get it changed it involved a long phone call to their supposed 'customer services' and eventually they agreed to change it. When I returned back to have the change, the customer service in the Branch was absolutely awful. Halfords Senior Management please read this review, sort out the staff that work at this Branch and ensure your customer service is at least at a minimum level. Awful service, awful customer service. Avoid at all costs.

They take zero responsibility for their faulty service and tell you to ?GO AWAY!?It is run by inexperienced young chaps who don?t seem to know what they are doing!I had a very bad experience at Halfords last year when I brought my car for Service+MOT. I went there to pick up my car and they didn?t do MOT. But then their manager was a very kind lady, apologized for it. I thought I should give another chance to Halfords Colchester Brook Street. This year, I went for Service+MOT again. They told me that they had to change the headlights of the car for the car to pass the MOT. I said, fine please do it.I picked up the car drove home- not a long distance. The next time I drove the car, I noticed that the indicator lights were not working. Never happened before. So I called them whether it could be related to them changing the headlights. They asked me to bring the car back to them for diagnostic check.I did bring back. They could not find what the cause of the indicator failure. They asked me to take it to an autoelectrician. Fine. I picked up my car but then I saw that there were fuse box pieces on the passenger seat, my dashboard was resetted and a piece from the speedometer was fallen inside the dashboard, my mask and a receipt in the car pocket were on the floor. I told the manager that I did not leave the car in that condition, they have to fix those things especially the fallen piece in the dashboard. The manager told me to come back the next morning because their technician was not there at that moment.I brought my car back the next morning (today) for the second time. Their manager was extremely rude, took no responsibility for anything in the dashboard. The fuse box pieces on the passenger seat were things that ?could happen.? The engine oil mark on my hood was ?those things happen and it?s not clear we did it.? The dashboard?? ?oh we didn?t touch it, we didn?t do it?? Then how was the dashboard messed up? ?I don?t know, things fall down on their own?. When I insisted on an explanation the manager told me to ?GO AWAY.?This is how they give service to their customers. The worst ever experience I had. I will never go back there!Service: General repairs & maintenance

Service was okay, but I haven't seen my refund, which was promised more than a week ago, I have tried garage, customer service chat and helpline it appears they just loop/spin you around from one team to another saying they don't handle refunds or cant provide any update on refund status.

Horrible costumer service. I used my premium membership for 10 points check and MOT and they cancelled the appointment for me to no have access again to the free services. When they cancel we cannot use the complementary service again from the premium membership. If this was not enought, I booked an appointment online for MOT Sunday and no one contacted me to say they don't do MOT Sundays, not even an apology or a call before I went to there to have my MOT. In resume, I went to the MOT in the Sunday when my booking was done and the guy only told me there that they don't do Mot's Sundays. Not even they cancelled the appointment online that would give me a notification. In my opinion is really bad and I will never go back there again.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS - INACCURATE MOT TESTINGStill yet to be refunded for my inaccurate MOT that was done in March. I had a health check at the shop on Cowdray avenue where I was told everything was fine. It was at this point I was upsold the health care premium package and thought it was a great idea so opted in. However, after having my MOT done, my wipers were damaged and I failed on tyres that were in the green just a matter of weeks ago.Not trusting the results, I went back to the shop to have them test the tyres again and Steven there found that the tyres were not a failure. Your two stores have conflicting answers. I needed to know if I was driving safely or not. When I went back to the garage to explain the manager Scott did not care. He said he wasn't to blame as it was an agency tester and I would have to contact DVLA/gov. I find this hard to understand as Halfords is the one offering me a service and I am being lied to here. Which person is responsible? Not only were my tyres not a fail, my wiper blades were damaged in the process and the lack of organisation of the place was evident to me when they called me twice (10 minutes apart) to see if I was attending my appointment. It seems that Halfords way of testing conflicts with one another. I am disappointed that Scott did not want to help or take any responsibility as a manager for my experience. When we visited Steven he said he would get me a refund on the MOT, however, I am still waiting on this. Customer service is ignoring my emails.I then went on to another company to have an MOT and it was not a fail on the tyre which your shop had said. I also took the tyre to a different garage for a 4th opinion and they said the same.I have now had to pay for two MOT's and feel hugely inconvenienced by your service and staff.
