I went in to enquire about switching from my current bank to Nationwide. Sara at the Peacehaven branch was extremely helpful and helped me through the bank switch process, and it was all sorted. Great experience at the branch with the staff there, and good on Nationwide keeping local branches going!

I had to make a BACS payment which I was having a problem with on line banking. The cashier was very helpful and very understanding and very professional and patient and if the branch had not been there I would have had to go to branches in the centre of Brighton which would have incurred additional time and parking fees. I am 81 years old and having this facility is very important to me and my wife.

Nationwide Peacehaven is so convenient to use. A free carpark on the doorstep makes visiting a local branch very easy.

I recently visited this branch and with the help of the staff, who guided me through some difficult paperwork, I completed my task. The staff member was very helpful and polite, nothing was too much trouble. My wife and I regularly visit this branch and find all the staff extremely helpful and friendly. We would be lost without this local branch of Nationwide.

I usually only go into the Nationwide Building Society if I want to deposit cheques into a savings account or occasionally withdraw a larger amount for a special reason, e.g. when I bought a new car. A few weeks ago I went into the Society to pay in a cheque and, in passing, commented that I was not happy about having received a letter from a bank which I have been a customer with for 45 years and whose remaining branch in Sussex in Castle Square, Brighton was going to close. I had the option of using Nat West facilities instead but my account was being transferred to Southampton. I've tried using the Nat West before as I was aware they did offer facilities for people who banked where I did but at the time they were unable to offer the service I wanted so I felt I might not get the comparable services if needed. I have rarely used the Brighton branch but at least I knew it was there if there was something I needed face-to-face assistance with. I was asked if I had considered transferring my account to Nationwide. I had in the past but was concerned that I had an account which was not on line and provided me with a regular written statement. This the FlexAccount does apparently so I have transferred to the Nationwide. The staff at Peacehaven sent full informaton of the various accounts to me by e-mail, told me when and how to transfer on line and gave me their telephone details should I have any problems. During the pandemic I have learned how to 'manipulate' this 'machine', i.e. computer somewhat more proficiently but I did have problems, rang the branch and got immediate and friendly guidance. There was even an offer to talk me through the process - this help I would have accepted but my computer is not in the same room as my phone and it would have been a complicated process running from room to room. The person I spoke to also offered to ring me on my mobile but as my mobile is rather old fashioned I was reluctant to use this. But, the offer was there. I persisted in my computer application for a new bank acccount. Took me a while but succeeded and felt quite proud at the end of the process. Was, however, tired out at the end of the session as I am not used to concentrating these days!! Can only hope I've made the right choice in switching accounts. We'll see. It will be nice to have a 'bank' on the doorstep again and just be able to call in if I need any help and guidance in the future. I am assured the Peacehaven branch is not going to close. There is also a very handy car park next door!!

I always try to carry out my transactions (savings accounts for myself, plus those for my 6 grandchildren & my Credit Card), at a local branch, rather than by having to journey into one of the City centre branches where I find myself "just a number" & have to pay to park ! I have always cherished the help & assistance I have received from Nationwide which is of particular importance to us older folk & will become more so as years go past. I initially used the branch in Rottingdean, but since that closed I have visited Peacehaven very many times where I have, without exception, always enjoyed exemplary & friendly service ( as well as easy & free parking !) & if this branch were to close I would certainly close all my Nationwide accounts & scrap my Nationwide Credit Card in disgust.
