What local branches used to be like. When I called the phone number (the normal, local phone number) a human being answered - a courteous, articulate human being. I made an appointment to see a colleague of hers called Lloyd, and Lloyd saw me on the day appointed exactly on time. Lloyd too was courteous and articulate as well as being extremely knowledgeable and helpful. Stellar!

I come from Dublin Ireland and have recently relocated to Brighton. I spent weeks attempting to set up a UK bank account receiving a negative response from most of the established bank including the Co Op bank and METRO ...I am a professional person who has always had,a,good credit record and found the experience exhausting and humiliating. I finally approached the YORKSHIRE BUILDING SOCIETY where the manager Ian was extremely helpful and respectful and got an account set up for me on the spot. Within 2 days I had received my bank card and have found all the staff extremely supportive and efficient .
