I had fraudulent activity in my account and the staff at the Brighton branch were brilliant at handling it. They were professional, thorough and really quick to respond. They went through old transactions with me, got the fraud stopped and refunded me the money that scammers had taken. Earlier in the day I?d first tried to engage HSBC using their main telephone number, but the telephone staff were difficult to understand (they were using mobile phones at their homes, and I even heard babies in the background), cut me off, and passed me from department to department. Also, I don?t mind call centres but they should be able to speak English if they?re meant to help English-speaking customers. I therefore didn?t have high hopes HSBC were going to resolve the fraud and I expected I would continue to have money stolen. I couldn?t be more wrong, the staff in this branch calmed me down and instantly went through all the transactions with me, handling their Fraud department directly and getting my money refunded to my account literally within minutes. It was so refreshing to be able to have confidence that an issue was being properly handled. What started as an incredibly stressful day ended in a far better place. I?m very grateful, thank you.

Will be changing banks as soon as possible. Randomly decided to start blocking my card from using it on local busses and still did not work after going into a branch for help.

Worse bank to work with! Can't open a business account for 6 weeks! All documents submitted weeks ago , no explanation , no update .Can't reach anyone over the phone to get feedback with the status .Branch officers are friendly but something wrong with HSBC workflow . Definitely advised to find another bank to work !

Really helpful and nice branch, found it a one stop shop for mortgage, investment and insurance. Steve Kwaiatkowski was amazing ?Also, just walking in with issues with my phone banking app and even just trying to pay in a cheque they went beyond to help

With the lockdown end, and business resume, why the bank only open 5 days for 4 hrs each. Is it to save cost and maximize profit

Went in today because after opening a bank account with them I didn't receive a pin code although the card arrived over 2 weeks ago. You'd think this is something they could sort out straight away as it is pretty basic stuff. However, the old, tired looking man who "served" me and whose name I forgot to check was only able to tell me they would send me another pin which would then arrive in 5 business days (3 weeks after opening the account) and was so rude I'm surprised he's still got the job. One "I'm sorry for the inconvenience" would have been enough for me to leave as a happy customer. This guy needs to go on an additional customer service training because looks like he's forgotten the basic manners. Or perhaps it's time for him to retire...

The staff of this branch always go the extra mile to assist you, from the clerks to the branch manager, always coming down even without asking him to do so, to their lovely mortgage advisor manager, who has given us a top service.

Sometimes I forget just how bad bad customer service can be. And then I go to HSBC (this branch in particular) and am reminded. Terrible service from a really really poor bank.
