Rude, Rude, Rude. Did not buzz us in for ages in a freezing cold wet day. When finally let us in, did not even say hello, will be with you shortly, sorry for leaving you outside! Nothing. We asked to be let out. We were going to make a big purchase, but took our custom elsewhere.

I have big knuckles and slim fingers which was problematic as my engagement ring was spinning around on my finger and so I called gold arts for advice (having done a bit of research online already). It was suggested to me that I could either have shots put into the band at about £80 each or a hinge which would cost around £200. Having seen some hinges online I decided that this was likely the option for me so I went to the shop and said that I was interested in having a hinge put into my ring band. Immediately I was told that it was not possible as the band is too slim. I was told that the ring was 2 sizes too small and that resizing bigger plus the shots would solve not only the difficulty of getting the ring over my knuckles but also stop it spinning. Sceptical that this would be the answer, I told the lady that I would trust her experience. This was to cost me £210.I waited a week and collected my ring. Immediately I could tell it was too big but the lady, a different one this time said, you need to see how it goes throughout the day as your fingers will change size. Doubtful, I agreed to do as she suggested with the reassurance that they would change it if I wasn't satisfied. I paid the £210.A week later I go back to the shop as the ring is sliding all over the place. I am then told that the only option is a hinge, the thing I originally wanted! However, when she showed my the type of hinge that the shop has it was ugle and I didn't want to go that route. I was told there was nothing further they could do as they 'couldn't' make the ring smaller and the jeweller (having checked with him) wasn't prepared to put in bigger shots as it would unbalance or change the aesthetics of the ring.I then move on to 3 other jewellers for advice. Every single one immediately said the ring was 1.5-2 sizes too big and when one of them looked the work done by Gold Arts using a magnifying glass showed me a hole in one of the shots put in by Gold Arts.I have an amazing ring and was looking for good advice and excellent workmanship but, in my experience came away with neither and it cost me £210 and 2 wasted trips.

Fitted a new 18 carat clasp to my 23 carat bracelet and gold plated it free so it blended well. Did the job well within the quoted time. Very happy with the service.

I went in to get a ring resized, the ring had embellishments and the staff were really thoughtful with how they resized it to preserve as much of the pattern as possible. They ended up cutting out a portion of the ring and did such a neat and tidy job. I'm so happy with the result and with the service from start to finish, I felt the sentiment I attached to the ring was really taken into consideration. Thanks so much.
