Brewers stated that my paint would arrive in one to two days and that I would get a call when it arrives. The call did not happen after three days, so I called to check up on the order. So far, so normal. However, to do so, I had to remember exactly what I ordered. This involved a complex guessing game where I had to direct the store person to the area in which I had bought the paint to obtain the brand. I also had to recall the finish and the colour. This failed.On a second call, after some time playing a similar game, I asked if I they could look up my order via my name. It turns out they could. However, because there was a mismatch between how many cans of paint I had remembered ordering and how many cans I had originally ordered (as requested by the painters), a decision was made to just provide one can, when I had ordered two. This confused the painter who had to pick up the pain, particularly as he was in charge of determining how much paint we needed. Apparently this alteration was explained to me over the phone, however I have no recall of this or the offer of a refund that might have been expected under such circumstances.I should apologise for getting annoyed. It never serves a purpose. However, if B&Q said they could only look up my order by getting me to recall exactly how many screws I had ordered and of which brand, I would also loose my marbles.It is also not possible to allow your painter to pick up said paint, unless you sound really annoyed, in which case it is, apparently, possible. Perhaps there is a purpose to getting annoyed after all.Oh, and if you are looking out from the perspective of the cashier, you will find the Sanderson brand in the left hand corner of the store. It is obscured, so you would have to move to identify this. However, it is unmistakably there. It has little pots on which to display samples of the colours. A memorable feature, unique to the brand one suspects.Incidentally, it is not a bad store. It just exists in a parallel universe where the customer is the IT system and paint stands mysteriously jump from one bit of the store to another.

50% more expensive than local DIY store for identical branded product. I'll happily pay a premium for service (the DIY depot was admittedly a horrendous experience), but £50 for a tin of paint when it's off the shelf round the corner for £35; Mugged. I was recommended here by my decorator, but never again.

I arrived at 5 minutes to closing, which is never the best time to look for assistance, so I didn?t and just quickly chose what I thought was needed. Nevertheless assistance was offered and I received the best and most knowledgeable customer service I have encountered in a long time. The salesperson advised me on the proper application of the product and calculated what quantities I would need to buy. Having wandered lonely through many home improvement stores recently without even encountering a member of staff, I was both surprised and impressed. I will now make Brewer?s my first stop for any decorating needs.
