Have to say I prefer Aldi as staff and shop is happy and more appealing. Lidl is a good shop only seems bit gloomy down the bottem where the non foods are .needs brightening up and a tidy up/ shuffle . Great products though.

Rude staff, prices under incorrect items, looks run down compared to Aldi. No cheaper than Asda/Tesco/Sainsbury's any longer. Won't be returning any time soon

Miserable staff unwilling to help as they seem too busy doing other things. The queues are always long and staff just walk by the queues without opening another checkout. The whole atmosphere is depressing. Thank God Aldi opened with self service check outs.

Empty shelf's lack of staff blocked gangways long queues for checkout

This is what a ?special buy? £10 steak will get you. £20 down the drain. Lidl customer service have nothing to say without the old packaging from cooked meat.

Bit small, but OK for a few bits of shopping. Middle aisle is always good for a bargain

This must be one of the worst Lidl stores for stock shortages. It's impossible to do a full shop here anymore and the Lidl Plus deals are just a joke now. The store is often difficult to navigate with cages everywhere and additional promotions on aisle ends and sticking out in the way. The store isn't big enough for this. There are empty shelves, empty freezers and hundreds of products with no prices displayed, sometimes for weeks on end. They can go months without stock of basics such as pitta bread, hot dog buns, tortilla wraps etc. I've stopped going as often now and just use other stores insteadI thought this was just how Lidl was these days till on Saturday I went into the Darlington store. This store was clean, tidy, had full shelves and freezers and plenty of stock of everything, including the eggs and bread products that Spennymoor say they can't get due to 'supplier issues' Well, Spennymoor - other branches local to you don't seem to have that problem! The one saving grace at Spennymoor is that most of the staff are friendly and helpful. They work really hard and are as frustrated by the shortage as customers are. As the 'supplier shortages' excuse obviously isn't true I wonder if this is a local management issue
