“This was our first visit for a meal at lunchtime. I loved the ambience of the place - old worldy with lots of interesting items on the delft racks. The meal was amazing - real home cooked food. I had mince & dumplings & my husband had steak pie & chips. The couple behind the bar were very pleasant & welcoming. I think we got a really good meal at a good price. We'll definitely go again.”

“Greeted with a warm welcome. Went to our room which was clean and well presented. Then the only downside to our stay. The bed was creaky, but comfortable. We booked a table for our evening meal and we were very impressed by the food. This was backed up by the breakfast in the morning. Ful English with cereals, porridge, fruit & yoghurt. Good selection of beer which was also well kept. A very good location for commuting into Newcastle or Durham.”
