Went in on a rainy Tuesday afternoon for a post-walk pint. They offered a homemade scotch egg as I was peckish, which has got to be the best I've ever had. With tasty ale chutney and salad. The price of the food was a bit steep but it was ok as the beer was well priced.Mint.

It is always a pleasure to visit the Horseshoe Inn. Remember the village car park when arriving by a car.

Popped in for a pint before we made our way back home to Cheshire last Saturday after visiting South Wiltshire for the first time.It had been a wet week with drier intervals, Saturday being one of such. On arrival at the village we were confronted with a sign imploring us to ?drive slowly through the flood?. A huge 4x4 went through leaving us wondering if our Fiesta would make it. It Did. ( it was only once through the flood that we realised that the water was actually the River Ebble that had overflowed and was using the road as an overflow).Park in the village hall car park as the pub has very little parking and on street parking is very limited.Beer in EXELLENT condition and the farming? implements that adorn every nook and cranny make this wonderful old pub almost a museum.A proper family run pub of quite a pedigree.Parking: Village hall. 2 mins uphill walk to pub. Possibly in entrance to churchyard. If you park in front of the pub you may either be blocked in, or may block someone in yourself. Just be prepared to move your car if need be or ask the staff to find out who has blocked you in.I saw this happen. A guy had just sat down to his meal when he was called to move his car to allow someone out.

Authentic, warm familiar atmosphere and delicious homemade food, true dive into the past. So far the best traditional Pub I found in the English countryside!

Just got home from having a fabulous Sunday roast. Met friends here after their friends recommended it. We were warned that the Landlord was acharacter who doesn?t take any nonsense which made for great entertainment- but he was on best behaviour today and we had some good banter with both him and his daughter.Well worth the journey out. A traditional pub with a warm welcome and cosy atmosphere. Food was excellent and generous portions. Plenty of veggies and gravy and all the staff regularly checked on us to make sure we had everything we needed. We made sure we left room for dessert all of which didn?t disappoint!!! Will defiantly be back. What a find.! Highly recommend.

We visited this lovely pub for lunch today and were made very welcome from the moment we arrived. My wife had the battered hake, peas and chips with a delightful home made tartare sauce. I had sausage, egg and chips. All was very well presented, beautifully cooked and extremely tasty. We had the Tarka lager to drink. The pub interior had the much loved feel with interesting tools and horse brasses adorning the walls. Thanks for a great lunch, we?ll most certainly back.

This pub was recommended by the air b n b owner...long drive from where we were staying...but very worth it! Old fashioned pub....rarely seen these days!....the hosts were extremely welcoming and the food was fantastic... Freshly cooked and the presentation was excellent....they didn't have what I wanted on the menu for desert...but the lady made it for me anyway....customer service at its finest!!....it really was the best food we had all weekend....cannot rate the food ...the service or the hosts highly enough....if you are staying in the area I would highly recommend you go there....and even if your not in the area...make a detour...you won't be disappointed ?

This is one place you have to visit. Dog friendly, welcoming staff and fantastic food. We visited it whilst on holiday in the same village and had evening meals, Sunday lunch and lunch. Thank you Tony and Jane for your hospitality. We will be back.
