Party of 10 pre booked as we have every year for a few years now on New Years EveDid not have a table of 10 we we offered a table of 8 in one room and a table of 4 in another room. This was by a female manager. She most unhelpful. We had to move table and chairs ourselves as apparently they are not allowed to do it. Also the restaurant was practically empty, far emptier than we had ever seen it.Our waitress was lovely prompt and professionalSadly the food was not a great hit on all countsMy father?s toast dinner with a gourmet chicken was awful. The veggie style chicken was like a brick. He was missing his mashed swede and honey roast parsnips that we had to ask for. His brussel sprouts looked so old and his carrots looked dryMy mixed grill was ok but sadly mine and my son?s steak was requested rare but both came well done. The room we were in was in a corner on it?s on away from the rest of the restaurant and it was freezing. The radiator under the window was stone cold. When I asked about the heating I was told well it?s on. I explained it wasn?t in the room we were sat at. Half of our table ate their meal with our coats onThe rest of the meal was okWhen o explained the issues we had incurred during our meal there was an apology from our waitress (even though the manager was stood right next to us). No offer of a discount or voucher or free deserts to make up for ALL the short fallings. We spent roughly £140 between us all and I feel that we did not get our moneys worthVegetarian options: The only food that was tasty

Everyone I met made me feel like a regular despite it being my first visit, the only names I got were the amazing Jade, Ellie, Claire and Mel, class ?

Very friendly staff, pretty decent food (though the Christmas pudding was a let down!), they made an effort with the Christmas decorations but probably needed someone with a more artistic eye in charge of that!

I've enjoyed a lovely vegetarian lasagna, followed by a rich cheese cake and coffee. Here is a flat white with my beloved

Wouldn't recommend unfortunately, staff were more intrested in speaking amongst themselves, they ran out of roast dinners on a Sunday afternoon, atmosphere was stale and food not great either :-(

Sorry for the long review but felt all aspects should be brought up from this visit.Such a very unfortunate experience. We pre-booked a table (2 adults and 2 children) in case it was busy but this was not required in the slightest. The bar area was very quiet and the restaurant had 3 other tables sat at 1:30 on a Sunday lunchtime. We were met at the host station very promptly, asked for allergies and told about the parking eye system in place. So far so good.Once we were shown to the table we were offered to order drinks, which we did. These also arrived swiftly and we ordered starters and mains with the Team Member. This is as far as the positives go I'm afraid. After 25+ minutes we looked for a Team Member to check if the order had gone through but no one was visible around the restaurant and bar. Back at the table we thought someone may come around to check on other guests but after 45 minutes the starters were brought to the table. These were lukewarm but at least they were present. No check back on the starters or drinks and the starter plates were only cleared once we managed to make the absent from restaurant Restaurant Team Member aware that they had been finished. If we hadn't then it would have been longer than the half an hour they were stacked on the corner of the table so far.The main dishes came out in a decent time from plates being cleared (but 45 minutes after starters were finished though). My partner who is a strict vegetarian was brought out a meat dish and told it was the vegetarian option ('here is your vegan chicken thingy'). Upon closer looking we questioned this and were told it was in fact the vegetarian option but with a pig in blanket put on in error. The vegetarian dish was mixed up with a turkey roast which looked very similar from a guests perspective as the vegetarian dish was a chicken style offering but from a Chef or Server perspective the dish is a very different make up. Once notified the Team Member said" it was totally my error, the chef made a turkey one for no reason". Had a check back been completed or had the Team Member been at all visible on shift then we would have brought up the fact that the dishes were barely warm yet over cooked with visible excessive char from the grill and dried out items as a result. Due to the quality of the cooking and standard/ lack of service being offered the dishes were only partially finished and not enjoyed at all.Once a new face came to clear the table he was unaware of any of the issues as he 'had not left the bar for over 2 hours' and the other team member seemed to vanish after the vegetarian meal mix up. The issues were passed on and he politely said he would cancel the bill and apologised for the whole experience. That was the last we saw or heard from anyone while getting ready to leave and going back through the restaurant to the car park.It is such a shame as we have previously enjoyed their breakfasts and other meal visits during much busier times and have in fact worked at Lynton Court and for Table Table previously. The biggest shame is that the level of service was so poor that the problems were not acknowledged and rectified in a timely manner and led to the end result.I think all would agree that an enjoyable family meal with good service and good food is the preferred outcome of any visit but I appreciate the response from such a poor visit so that we could then get home to cook a proper dinner and go elsewhere in the future. There are always going to errors and mistakes but, understaffed or not, I have never had such an unbelievably continuously poor experience. Sadly, in it's current state that will be the last visit to Lynton CourtVegetarian options: None available if they keep sending out meat products in error

Ate here for my birthday first visit but I'm sure we will be back even though we travelled from havant. Partly of 4 and everyone enjoyed their choice of food, only problem I found was the table we had was a bit cold near a large window but had explained that a power cut has messed up the heating system hopefully that will be sorted soon

Awful, put a complaint in about our experience and have not recieved a reply to date. Place was filthy hair and layers of dirt and dust freezing cold. Upon arrival.there was two families dining. The rest of tables empty we were told that we might not be able to get you anywhere to eat. Made it seem like it was a big ask. Food was really nice I cannot fault at all. Although service was something else. The manager upon leaving questioned me.about my blue light card asking where and who I work for. I felt under interrogation as he was hesitant with finalising the bill.untill I answered. Will.not be returning.

Ordered a table for 18:15, did not end up eating until almost 20:30. Numerous tables left after waiting on average an hour and a half for food to arrive. The resturant wasnt busy. A wait this long should be made clear when you are seated, or at least when you are waiting. A shame as the food was nice.

Working in hospitality is hard work so please be kind to the staff. It was the 'service with a smile' and 'can do' attitude of Japheth that made it a good experience for us. In the evening he worked alongside a colleague, at breakfast he was on his own. The food was as we expected and we enjoyed what we had as part of the 'meal deal'. Breakfast was cooked to order and well worth the wait. Not only did we get exactly what we wanted, the poached eggs were cooked to perfection. Cooking to order also meant no food waste. Thank you Japheth.
