What's not to love at B&Q? They stock an amazing variety of products for the house and garden.

It's huge, well stocked, clean, and feels well run. Unlike some I know..

It's not my favourite place to shop as it is so big being on 2 floors. I always have to ask where things are, and then it takes ages to find things.

Absolutely amazing staff. Helpful, kind. I do not know how I would do without your help and advice.

They are generally stocked and you can check before going but the staff are really quite useless. Wouldn?t use the paint mixer / shaker for ?insurance? reasons. ??s.

I was at b&q castlepoint at 6:30pm roughly today, had a horrible experience with a security guard as he followed me and my friend around while we were looking at paint and furniture to decorate our flat with. We are both 20 years of age, and quite frankly we felt like 14 year olds in our school uniform. I am appalled by this behaviour as we felt singled out and awkward, we felt compelled to leave the store before we had even bought anything! Don?t judge a book by its cover. Thanks

I have never seen so many unhelpful members of staff in any other shop. I think the reason B&Q's prices are so high is because they hire dozens of staff to walk the aisles and do absolutely nothing. If you ask for help they will refuse by saying "I think that's downstairs, please use the lift behind you" or they hide in a glass office (more like a zoo) that is inaccessible to customers, but they can easily see you looking for assistance. Even if you look confused they don't care because they are safe from working while they're in the glass box.I visited on 20/7/23 at about 14.00 to do a return and was told by one member of staff "it would be faster if you go to that desk". There was one person in front of me. Then the second person told me "it would be faster if you go to the Trade Desk". Again, there was one person in front of me. When I got to the Trade Desk there were 2 people ahead of me. When it was my turn, I apologised to the cashier and told him I was told to see him by the lady at the returns desk. He said "that's ok, they don't seem to do any work over there". I agreed and apologised again.I would suggest you visit another hardware shop as it will be cheaper and a better experience.

Although parking and getting into this shop was good,I did find that I had to search for a member of staff so that I could locate one of the items that I went in there for,I also managed to get everything that I needed after a quick search on their system,

I'm assuming that the staff have been taught in the art of camouflage because they certainly were on the missing list when I went there, ridiculous while still blaming covid for a lack of stock
