“The YMCA was recommended to me by a fellow Children's Physiotherapist as a welcoming inclusive environment and I have not been disappointed! Bryony was fantastic during our gym induction and her positive attitude made myself and my client feel extremely welcome. The space is accessible for wheelchair users to exercise; there are automatic doors to gain entry to the building and good parking facilities. The whole gym is level access from the reception area and is spacious. Some of the CV equipment is quite close together so an attendant is required to move it but this is easily done. The gym and wheelchair accessible toilet are accessed through non automatic doors so again an attendant is required. I look forward to a long and happy relationship with the YMCA. Thank you so much Bryony.”

“I've seen great results from curves gym. Gym instructors are motivating and super friendly. Much nicer environment than a regular gym in my opinion. And its only a 35-40 Min workout Including stretching!”

“The Devonshire is like home from home. My husband has severe Motability issues, and without the Devonshire being his lifeline, I don’t know what we would do. The staff are amazing here, so kind, they always chat, always make you feel welcome, and make you feel like part of a huge family. The pool is the main reason we go here, it has sloping steps, in the inside and outdoor pool, which means my husband can gain access to both pools with his mobility issues. There is a strong hand rail on the right hand side, going down, and a gradual gradient, meaning he can slowly enter the pool, with ease, rather than trying to go down steep ladders. He can’t swim, but the fact the water is high enough to keep him buoyant, means the only time my husband can stand upright, and physically walk, is in this pool, as he can’t walk “on land”, without being in chronic pain, and stopping every couple of steps to contain himself, as the pain takes over. So without this pool, my husband wouldn’t be able to walk at all. The entire place is immaculate, the changing rooms are beautifully laid out, spotlessly clean, and are like something from a luxury hotel. The coffee shop serves Costa, so that’s a winner for me, the staff are so lovely, and it’s absolutely spotless, at all times. My husband is limited to what he can use in the gym, as he can only use upper body machines, but all the equipment is if exceptionally high standard, there is always plenty of staff on hand to assist, and everyone is so kind, supportive and helpful. I can’t recommend this place enough, it’s like no other gym or leisure centre we’ve ever been too, and without this place, my husband would barely leave the house, it is literally a lifeline for him, and I don’t know what we would do without it, or the staff there, it means so much to us.”
