I remember when B&Q was decent, now its staff are clueless, 90% of what you need is ?online only? and the store its self is a joke stock wise. Gone are the days of a staff member actually giving DIY advice or knowing anything about the products they sell. The most useful staff member was the Mite security guard, he had more product knowledge than the supposed shift manager.

Huge b and q, convenient and you can nip to lunch at TH if you're working, but the system they have to locate things is a bit vague! Stuff are hit and miss, half seem great and pleasant, the other half seem like they would rather be anywhere else in the world but answering your question!

I obtained a price online for board material for an amateur construction project and they were able to beat the local timber merchants by a wide margin despite a £30 delivery charge. The delivery time of a couple of days was very competitive too.I cannot thank the two delivery guys enough. They went above and beyond what one has come to expect but these guys were a credit to B&Q. They were very helpful and the products were delivered in prime condition. I will not hesitate to use B&Q Plymouth again for my building materials. Thank you.

You're standard B&Q store with what you would expect from this chain, very well equipped with everything you would need for home repairs, improvements etc. This particular store is located near Derriford and can be a little annoying to get to in peak times due to traffic, so best to visit during quiet periods. The way the car park is designed and how you get back onto the main road can definitely be a pain otherwise!

This store is big. You can find almost everything you need for that DIY job. I used the "click and collect" for the first time. Not only it gave me a discount but the help desk where you collect the items, was an easy journey. They have a big car park.

Outstanding customer service from Finley, he went above and beyond making sure my delivery went through after the in-store computer insisted my order was out of stock, he even rang me the next day and guided me through what to do next. Thank you Finley

Up until today I have always found this place to be brilliant in all aspects. After a conversation with an exceptionally helpful lady on the 'phone last week we called to return a faulty item. We accepted a credit note as I wanted to buy some plants. When we came to a till to do this we were served by a woman who looked as though we were an inconvenience! Then whilst scrabbling in my purse for the credit receipt which took seconds she retorted sarcastically is says Credit note on it!! Sarcasm....then I was told the printer on the refund till doesn't work. Not my problem!

Was good in store, staff all good. The spoiler for me was on trying to leave the driver of their one hi haib delivery truck drives through the car park like a man possessed. For me it was a close call, he saw my car well in advance and made eye contact with me. The only large trucks that use the car park are owned and operated by B&Q. They need to get control of them.

Considering this place is monsterously big, it's surprisingly hard to find anything you actually need. I usually end up compromising with what I'm looking for or searching online for something more specific because what B&Q offers isnt good enough or is the wrong size.If you need something basic and don't have any particular requirements B&Q is a good entry level DIY store, but bare in mind it's not cheap. If you're looking to upscale anything then B&Q's prices will eat into your budget and the limited uncompromising selection of items will hamper your efforts. As an example I needed drawer runners to replace some broken ones. I needed the two most common types - simple non mechanism bars which the drawers slot onto, and ball bearing ones which don't add any width and hide within the drawer slots. B &Q sell only big drawer runners which add about 2cm of width to a drawer and require quite big slots to fit into. They're really ideal for if you're making your own furniture or your furniture isn't constrained by space internally... But these runners did not fit the 4 different pieces I was working on and B&Q only sells these sort of runners.Another example is the Knobs to go on drawers. B&Q sell them singly or in packs of 6. Singly they are £5/6 and as 6 they are £14/16 which essentially forces you to spend £16 on most likely too many knobs to avoid paying the extreme price of £5 for a cheap basic drawer knob.Another example would be the wood section, I had to route through a dozen or so planks to find one that wasn't split or warped. Some were so warped they were completely curved and so useless.
