“I walked into Brewers with a piece, about the size of a large postage stamp, of flaked off paint from my living room. I have no idea where I bought the original emulation or what make.The original damage was caused by a leaking roof valley repaired some time ago.Within minutes I was told that we have scanned the sample and can match it. Minutes later a tin of paint was produced with a dab on the original sample. I could not see any difference.After sealing the water damage I over painted the area, the match is perfect.Thank you Brewers for such great service!”

On my way back to my car a member of staff, Ashley, came towards me and asked if I'd like to come back in. On my return she got me a chair + was so kind and helpful. “There are pros and cons to purchasing from Toolstation. For me, the pros outweigh the cons, and I feel this will be the same for most. This site is probably no different to the rest throughout the UK, and is certainly no different to the one in Sowton (for good reasons! Those guys also rock!).Pros:-Generally lower prices for equal/similar quality products available in Screwfix, Machine Mart, B&Q etc.-Open 7am-8pm most days (so are the competitors to be fair)-Staff are very reasonable (might even re-open the doors to the shop for you if you arrive bang on closing if they haven't turned the lights off yet!) and helpful if you are looking for guidance on what to buy-Parking at this site is basically never going to be an issue. In contrast to Screwfix on the opposite side of the road where I've had to wait to park before (first world problems, I know...)Cons:-Returning stuff you don't need is less 'slick' that at the previously mentioned places. You need a physical receipt, or to trawl through the receipts on your phone app, which are presented as a list of order numbers which is tricky to read.-Returning stuff for cash as opposed to exchange/credit seems to depend on the staff member you're talking to (I've not figured out their formal or informal policy on this yet)-Sometimes toolstation is more expensive than the previously mentioned competitorsUpon re-reading the above, it does feel like for anyone who is organised and knows exactly what they want, toolstation is a no brainer most of the time. I've only had great experiences at the Marsh Barton Branch, and frankly I love that they're now opposite to, have better parking arrangements, are generally cheaper, and yet somehow is less busy than Screwfix?!”

“Really great service. We went in on Saturday and were warmly greeted by Donna Martin. We immediately saw a lovely sofa set, sat down on it and fell in love!Donna walked us through the finance options and was exceptionally friendly throughout - no pushy sales, letting us make the decisions.We came back a few days later having made our decision and Donna’s manner was exactly the same - friendly, courteous and not over burdensome.We’ve come out with an exceptional sofa set and could not recommend Furniture Village and in particular Donna more.”

“It’s a good kitchen shop and sometimes has really good deals. One time me and a friend went in here to have a look and found some hot chocolate dinosaur eggs that were normally £3, first reduced to £2 and then reduced to just 99p so there are some good deals in there”

“Friendly + approachable staff. As a non trade member of the public, they are always helpful when I go here for DIY related things. Today I went in to colour match some paint. The member of staff serving me explained the options and even told me about an offer that started tomorrow that would have saved me money. Sadly I couldn't wait but I thought this was generous advice with the customer at the forefront of how they serve as a business.”

“It's a great little place. Discovered Whittard teas online but never knew they had a shop in Exeter until we stumbled on it last year. They always have a few samples on the go to try what's being marketed. And they always have their core products stocked if we ever need to get some while we're visiting. The only qualm is that, like many tea/coffee outlets, a lot of the really good stuff is either promotional or limited edition; you try something which you really fall for, and then find it's no longer stocked a few months down the line...”

“Huge store but we were a little bit disappointed as the lighting and furniture section was quite small. I think if you are looking for "stuff" for inside your home (kitchenware, soft furnishings, curtains and blinds etc ...) then you'll be fine.”

“I had lost my front number plate on my way to London. Carl the member of staff that served me was great, initially we thought that the only documentation they could take was a V5, however after explaining my situation, Carl decided to see if there was anything else they could accept to purchase the number plate. After a bit of searching he found we could use alternative documentation that I had available and I was able to buy the number plate and continue with my journey. That’s customer service. Others would have turned me away claiming they could only do it with something I didn’t have on me. However Carl put in the extra time and work to find a solution which I really really appreciated. Thank you.”

“Exeter Trade Point... friendly and helpful staff. The store (B&Q) is one of the well stocked and managed outlets easily found at Sowton off the M5 with plenty of parking and fast checkouts.Prices are great for Trades people with a 10% new loyalty discount across all goods.”
