Would have given 5 stars. Girls working the till were lovely and helpful. Fish and chips were both nice.Unfortunately the man obviously in charge was irritatingly dismissive of customers to the point it was a bit rude. Takeaway menu was cheaper so we tried that, he brought us inside to order and tried to charge us for sit-in menu, then when that failed he tried to make us buy the extras that dont normally come with takeaway meals (mushy peas etc.), had to ask for cutlery as it wasnt provided and then when i came back to ask for salt and vinegar sachets they didnt have any! Main guy said to pour salt on my hand (half jokingly), then rudely asked why i was still there?, and was of no further help until i left to have fish and chips with ZERO salt and vinegar which is crucial for me.Guess he just hates people taking away for cheaper.

Been here several times over last few months . Such lovely friendly staff who always do their best to please. Usually quick service and great food. Good value. Will keep returning!

A lovely little café at the side of the outdoor swimming pool, more or less underneath it. You wouldn't know it was there if you weren't going to the pool or the bowling green. Plenty of inside & outside seating, lovely home cooked food. A great selection of hot &, cold meals are available all reasonably priced. There is a hatch where ice cream is served in the warmer weather which is handy as there are picnic tables to sit on and enjoy it. Staff are friendly and bring your order out to you if you are sat outside. Will call again if in the area.

Nice cafe, decent cappuccino and lots of cakes that looked fresh. Would recommend for a post swim nibble to warm your cockles.The lemon poppy seed cake slapped

I've been here 100s of times over the years. A friendly place to stock up on generous portions whilst keeping an eye on your bike. Beloved by out door types and everyone who loves cake.

Good food lovely outside seating for summer. Only criticisms are it's a little dated inside and there could be more highchairs but other than that it's great.

Always good to visit the pool cafe. Owner was a joy. Told me the history of his employ at the cafe.Will return as often as possible

Had high hopes for this cafe, spotted it mid hike with my 65 year old mum. Weather was awful so thought we?d get some shelter outside for a rest as I?m also pregnant. We saw the sign about only customers can eat on the premises so we ordered 2 coffees and 2 slices of cake. We hadn?t originally planned to stop but with the weather being so bad and myself being pregnant we thought it would be ok to eat our small sandwiches as long as we were paying customers. It was dead, only another couple outside with us, but we were told by the owner we couldn?t eat our sandwich, even though we bought plenty from his business. So we decided to leave as that?s not the service I wish to be a paying customer for. Just a shame that a 65 year old and pregnant lady were treated in such a way on a rainy day. I would have been back as we walk a lot in this area, but unfortunately will not be now.

Food is amazing at this place and they have a massive variety. Coffee made with a machine ( which is not a problem) its only just luke warm though

Was very busy when we visited but wasn't one of those cafes that puts too many chairs and tables in, so you could move around and people weren't bumping each others tables. Good food, friendly staff. Nice tea.

Cafe serving a range of hot and cold food and drinks. Good range of cakes, sandwiches and cooked food. Seating indoors and outside. New heaters outside. Reasonable prices. Friendly, helpful staff. Large umbrellas outside, good for keeping the rain or sun off you as you enjoy your food and drinks.Parking: Small car park shared with the swimming pool and other facilities.
