Since the loss of counter service the branch is poor. One paying in machine for cash, which is often out of order and no option for coins. Although you can pay in cash at post offices this is little compensation as their counter service is even worse.

I went there without an appointment and with a lot of topics to sort out (name change, email address change, address change, forgotten pin and password) and was seen to right away and everything sorted. Excellent service, many thanks to Josh!

I visited HSBC Chesterfield today as I needed help with a bank transfer - they were very friendly and helpful - Marlene made it possible for Josh to come and talk me through the transfer and nothing was too much trouble - 10 out of 10 - thank you !

I went in to withdraw money as I was taking out more than my daily amount.There was a large queue of people and others using the self service machines.The assistant at the door would not let me enter until I told her how much money I was withdrawing. I told her that I didn't want everyone to hear that as it's not great security but she stated "it's fine, I'm not letting you join the line until you tell me".Everyone in the queue was looking at me.Security should be at the forefront surely?

Let's face it, nobody really likes banks. I mostly bank online so have only been in this branch on the odd occasion.The staff were friendly and tried to help but I feel, like most places, their hands are tied on a lot of things by head office.

The branch has some very very old machines that do not accept all cheques. Have to go to another bank to pay cheques in and then transfer the money or wait for ages to pay in one cheque. Been going to other banks for over 10 years. Okay with sub £500 cheques as I can photograph those to pay in.

The worst bank in Chesterfield every time no matter when I am here I am waiting at least an hour to make a simple transfer. Little staff available to help but many upstairs doing nothing. Very unorganised bank I now travel to Sheffield to go to HSBC because this one is so bad.
