Great night watching real madrid win the champions league. With family and young children, yummy food and lovely staff who went above and beyond. Thank you so much.

I've been to this establishment on numerous occasions and each time is better than the last, the staff are absolutely fantastic especially Nicola who always seems to be very polite and inviting. The selection of drinks from cask ales, lager, ciders is great, but I highly recommend the cocktails. The food is sublime, especially the new kebabs, I'd recommend the hot honey kebab with a side of rosemary skin on fries. The beer garden is also fantastic and is very inviting just like the staff. If you're in Bowness on Windermere I suggest you pay this place a visit as you will not be disappointed!

A message for the landlord.....Having visited over several days, just for a beer, I was always welcomed and treated very well by the bar staff. Very friendly.I am only really writing this review to point out something I had noticed whilst sat having my beer in the front beer garden. The wooden chairs provided are often the ones most used and are very comfortable along with a few wicker type chairs occupy a higher level. However, when the wooden chairs and wicker chairs are all occupied it leaves only VERY uncomfortable metal chairs left to sit at on the lower level. The metal chairs are of two colours, green and yellow and look and feel awful.I sat and had a pint of beer, just for about an hour, on two afternoons over the May bank holiday. On both occasions, I witnessed several groups come in, take a look at the seating and walk out.The problem with the metal seats is that any rain leaves them with deep puddles on the seat as there is no where for it to drain after a shower.I watched groups of people come in, attempt to sit down or just see the wet seats and leave.I saw a group of around 9 to 10 men enter, two of them sat down, got up immediately then all of them left. This was not an isolated incident. On the two days that I had sat watching, when the seats were wet and the wooden chairs were occupied, many many people came, took one look at the wet metal chairs and immediately left.I am writing this because it is a great pub and I feel that the landlord should know that a lot of custom is being lost, all due to the wet metal seating.

Disappointed in my bacon, chicken and avocado wrap. Basic chicken goujons like you buy from a supermarket freezer. Shame they don?t make their own, felt it was over priced. The woman behind the bar was curt and not very friendly. I wouldn?t bother going again. The bar does look well presented though. Drinks were pricy too.

Josh (assistant manager) & the team was most welcoming for our group of 4 adults and 2 Bernedoodle dogs. Nothing was too much trouble to assisting with our needs and the dogs needs, also went out of their way to put the football on which made us feel so welcome and at home, this made the decision to stay for even longer easier. Would Definitely go again x

Only problem is despite several attempts to contact to explain an extra charge of nearly £28 taken, no attempt to rectify at all.So just be aware and check your bill.

Visited on a week day trip to Bowness. Huge beer garden at the front, really looking forward to returning when the weather improves! The pub has a lovely, chilled village pub vibe. It was well presented, clean, and tidy and it actually smelled clean when we walked through the door.It was busier than we were expecting it to be on a weekday afternoon, which we took to be a good sign. Despite this, the service was excellent. We were greeted warmly with a smile, advised where we could find a table and told to order at the bar when we were ready. Every member of staff we interacted with throughout our visit was friendly, welcoming and it genuinely felt like they enjoyed being at work. There's nothing worse than being served by someone that makes you feel like you're putting them out!The drinks were a bit on the expensive side, but I guess that reflects the location and it definitely wouldn't put us off returning. The food on the other hand was extremely good value for money. We didn't have to wait long for it to arrive after ordering, the portions were generous and it was all absolutely delicious! I don't usually write reviews, so I didn't think to take any photos. We had pulled pork tacos and halloumi fries to start, followed by a chicken and ham pie with mash, and a Hungarian beef goulash.Overall, a very enjoyable afternoon and we look forward to returning next time we're in the area!

Village Inn seems to have changed hands since we last went. Much more pub than the restaurant feel it had before. TV showing sports, the food was pretty poor, drastic decline from previous menu. It also felt grubby - dirty walls near the toilets and the toilet brush in the accessible bathroom was awful. I won't go back. Such a shame as it used to be our go to place for lunch in Bowness
