This is from my own experience. Others may differ. I gave this a four star only because I'm not really at the age to benefit from the clothing range at Kernow Mills. I bought some Cornish cider, which was really nice. There is a small café there and the food looks nice although I didn't eat there. The staff were really nice and helpful. This will probably be a 5 star from me in 10 years' time. Well worth a look, even if only just for the different ciders available.

We came here on the 16th of April for our first ever baby shower! The experience was great! The food was lovely and fresh and the staff went above and beyond to accommodate us. We were able to set up decorations and had ordered cream tea?s which included drinks, scones, cupcakes and a load of different sandwiches all made fresh that morning. There was around 20 of us and we would 100% come back it was a great success.

We meet regularly but won?t be going back there any time soon

Everything was hard and chewy even the baked beans ,I was the first customer so maybe it was preheated from the day before ,black pudding you could break a tooth on ,tinned mushrooms ,hard egg ,and waited over half an hour for it even though I was the only one there...rubbish

Always lovely food cooked by Tina. Great service and very reasonable price. Nothing is too much trouble. We reserved a table and our food was ready in good time. Thank you.

We came for Sunday lunch, but the heating must be nearly turned off to save money as it's just as cold as a few weeks ago when they ran out of oil for three weeks,we there fore did not stop as we are not sitting in the cold eating our lunch.

the service is ridiculous, tables sat covered in dishes for over 30 minutes and staff stood behind the counter talking the whole time. cake was dry and buttercream was grainy. out of the 5 of us that came not one finished their drink. coffee was bitter and undrinkable and hot chocolate was cold and bitter. will never be back.

High Tea consisted of poorly made, basically filled sandwiches, two iced cakes but tasty scones with jam and cream. Advised re Grandchilds dairy allergy but still gave him butterd bread and coleslaw with his chips instead of peas. Baked potatoe was fine. Tea and coffee fine. Service was extemely slow. Staff were pleasant.

Visited the cafe at 10.30 am which should be a quiet time. Disapointed to find over half the tables occupied and the remainder cluttered with dirty plates. There was a huge que along the front of the counterwhere one was expected to wait to be served - nobody showing guests to tables, no regard for social distancing at a time when covid rates are shooting up again. Behind the counter there was one lady serving, taking orders and taking payments. The que simply didnt move, customers were tutting and moaning. People were leaving the que and walking out. Felt very sorry for the lady behind the counter who was doing her best but without any support. After 20 minutes of this rediculous situation we left as well and went over the road to Windy Ridge Cafe which was Excellent. Certainly wont come here again - Unless you have all day to waste and enjoy standing around like sheep I would not recommend it to anyone.

They advertise plated sandwiches with cole slaw and salad, but don't tell you what fillings are available. When pressed, we were offered a choice of ham, cheese tuna or egg mayonnaise. Plumping for ham, we got exactly that, a ham sandwich on a plate, no sign of any salad or cole slaw. When I queried this, I was told that in order to get the salad and cole slaw I would need to order a "plated sandwich". I looked uncertainly at my sandwich on a plate and asked why it wasn't a plated sandwich?? 3 staff got involved to tell me that I had gone for the cheaper version, who knew??? Needless to say, the sandwich itself was underwhelming, a bit of garnish would have helped it down. But you've been warned, if you want cole slaw and salad, make sure you used the word "plated" when you order!
