Worst customer service ever I had today at WHSmith Clifton Down Station. I'm always offered a student discount for my son's children's books and today the staff member refused my 8 year old son a student discount because he, who was still in his school uniform, was not able to produce a student discount card. Not sure if that's WHSmith policy but I think it's unfair and discriminatory. I will keep encouraging my son's reading and buying books and everything else somewhere else.

Really helpful staff, a lady called amber helped me with tickets and postal materials. Lots of good books also.

I'm pretty certain that there has been a WH Smith in this centre since it opened in the early 80s, although I think it used to be in a different place perhaps where Starbucks is now.Anyway, if you're after newspapers, magazines, other periodicals, art supplies, school supplies, stationery, cards or all manner of other paper and paper related products, this is really the best/only place in the high street. Luckily, whilst not especially cheap compared to what you could get online, Smiths has stock variety, availablity AND accessibility on its side. I used to be a bit naughty and read quite a few magazines without buying.... but nowadays I of course simply read stuff online.TldrIf you need stuff quickly and can't wait next day, this is always a good option.
