The most terrible customer service I have ever experienced. This in addition to the level of dirt ( dust and hair) on the shelves where the medication is displayed .This pharmacy needs to be shut down. The service is appalling , the pharmacist who was on duty yesterday , the 11th of may have zero customer skills and for a healthcare provider zero care for the customers . I arrived at the pharmacy at 17:59 hrs just to find the door locked. I have knocked and the pharmacist opened it just to let the customer out. I have literally begged him to dispense me the med on prescription but ignorantly said it?s 6 pm and the pharmacy is closed but they open again next day. I am a nurse and work shifts and I explained this to him I will be working shifts until Monday and I am already out of medication for one week. He literally was not interested and shut the door in my face. I will never use this facility again. One star review is far too much considering how dirty the place is and the level of rudeness towards the customers. On a different occasion the pharmacy assistant asked me out loud what medication I am expecting. Clearly confidentiality is out of the question for the place as well. Every staff needs to be properly trained in talking to the customers as well as the place in itself which is in desperate need of a proper clean. I will report this further as I find it unacceptable!

I think this pharmacy is only still in business as it's the only one in the locale. Appalling customer service. I usually drive miles out of my way just so that I don't have to use it, but on the occasions where I do go there, each time I'm reminded why I usually don't bother. On this latest occasion, I was the only customer in the shop and was ignored by 3 people in the dispensing area. The first employee deliberately walked away from me at the counter when she must have known I was there, after about a minute of standing there being ignored (ie no acknowledgment) I said "Excuse me ..." and was ignored by all 3, then a second employee who was at a computer facing me walked to the back of the dispensary and started sharing her plans for improving the filing system with her colleagues, then came back to the computer again .... no acknowledgment of a customer standing there, but they knew I was there. So I said: "Hello ..." and she looked up and tutted as if I was being such a nuisance ... and I got the full Basil Fawlty treatment as she scorned me that she "was just in the middle of something." But I think the non-urgent filing system should be secondary to an actual living customer stood at the till waiting to be served! So please, Day Lewis, get your act together. Customer service is important in any public-facing business - and definitely ranks more highly than getting your filing sorted. I shall continue to avoid buying from you in the future and will let Day Lewis management know why. On a personal note, I felt really upset and invisible and angry as I drove away from your shop. Is that really how you want your customers to feel?

It was a pleasure and fantastic experience using Google maps, it's so accurate and easy to locate anywhere one is finding it difficult to get to

Having lived in the area 3.5years and not having a choice as to where to collect prescriptions from, I can honestly say that this is the worst pharmacy I have ever had to deal with. They are so unhelpful and rude; despite errors on their part there are never any apologies and you are always made to feel you are an inconvenience to them. Wait times are inexcusable and even with notice, and calls in advance to confirm, the amount of times they are out of stock of apparently pre-ordered items is just shocking. The attitude of the staff is appalling.

Appalling service. Sold my mother a product with just a 3 month shelf life and refused to exchange it. Had been unable to supply a receipt when she brought it as their printer was out of paper and as it was still, just, in date refused a refund. My parents are forced to get prescriptions from here by their doctor as they live near by but they are constantly out of stock and don?t have items ready when they should as they are short of staff. They even displayed a sign in the store saying it is a 30 minute wait for prescriptions due to lack of staff. I imagine they only stay in business due to their monopoly on prescriptions from swallowfield medical practice.

Very disappointing, private doctor prescription emailed didn?t have all of them , the one I really wanted I was told they had them 5 mins later they don?t have , took me 40 mins to walk with a stick. Had to say just leave it as will have delivery soon. Very poor

I waited for approximately 50 minutes in line, then asked to speak to a pharmacist at which point I was told "we are very busy, call 111". Apparently it is acceptable for them not to do their jobs properly so here I on hold with 111 for 25 minutes and counting...

Since new owners took over this shop as drop a lot. Meds are not being delivered on time and when calling them they never answered today I?ve tried calling them 8 times and it?s like there closed. It?s shouldn?t be like this all the time.

My experience of today's visit:1. Arrive at 9am which is opening time apparently. Wait outside with 3 other people. Give up after 15 minutes to come back later.2. Arrive at 11:30. Wait outside for 10 minutes due to social distancing. Go in to look for pain relief for a toothache. Nothing on the shelf so I ask at the counter.3. Get given mouth ulcer pain relief after saying repeatedly that I have a toothache and need something like oragel which can help.4. Ask for some ibuprofen. Get given a £10 (not a typo) box of 20 ibuprofen. Buy it anyway as there are 10 people queuing outside now and don't want to make them wait even longer.5. Get home and try the £6.79 ulcer gel. It does literally nothing for toothache.6. Order what I actually wanted, Oragel, from Sainsbury's for almost half what I paid for a useless item from Day Lewis. £3.50.I've always found the staff to be slow and the prices to be high but today pushed me over the edge. Moving all prescriptions online and only using in a genuine emergency.I would accept high prices at the cost of organised and knowledgeable staff. Unfortunately, that is not the case and the high prices are obviously just to increase margins and line owners pockets.

Very knowledgeable and empathetic pharmacist with a room for private consultations etc. Easily the best pharmacy in South Reading.

Useless, no stock and some staff members hate that you even exist as you walk in.
